9. Politics
GOD:
Today’s American two political party system is used to polarize the
village rather than uniting it for the betterment of the great American
people, the 99% and, My world!
Case and point: Hardworking Americans with college educations are
unemployed and can’t find any work, never mind in their own field of
study and experience. After two years of looking for a job, an engineer
with a graduate degree and over twenty years of experience happily
accepted a part-time job as a clerk at a minimum wage of $7.35 an hour
just to have some earnings and feel useful. Villagers’ children are
graduating with honors from top universities – unfortunately, with
hundreds of thousands of dollars in school debt – and can’t find jobs.
If the unemployed workers are between the ages of 50-65 – before they
qualify for Medicare – they probably won’t find a job as their healthcare costs are too high. One
can’t blame the employers, as they can’t afford the high cost of
employees’ healthcare insurance, the unemployment insurance, and many
other federal, states, counties, and municipalities taxes and fees, never mind
the ever increasing cost of operating a small business due to the ever
increasing and high cost of energy, raw materials, and labor.(1)
The American dream of owning one’s own home is no longer possible
because of the housing debacle. There are so many homes in foreclosure,
with many more on the way, that the corrupt banks holding them are
bankrupt already or will go bankrupt as soon as the federal government
stops propping them up with the villagers’ tax dollars. Even worse,
their ineffective and corrupt so called “government of
the people, by the people, for the people,” has borrowed
trillions of dollars from their children, some of them not yet born, to
fund their biased programs and subsidies or bailout of the
1%!
