THE HOLY MATRIMONY IT WAS TO BE
He asked
God
and was granted a beautiful young wife named Linda. An angel sent from
heaven as he always believed and told her she was. She was kind, she was
beautiful inside and out. His father, who happened to meet her when they
first had met, knew right then and there that she would be his wife and
blessed them with his approval and love. Her parents and her siblings
were the best of the in-law's anyone can wish for. Her dad, Joseph, was
a gentleman, a tall, handsome, and generous man. He was a man Rock
always wished he could be like. Her mother, Delores, an angel herself,
she was a beautiful, kind, and generous woman who was the talk of the
neighborhood for her honesty, generosity, and love she bestowed upon
others. She cooked and fed everyone who came to her house. She was a
giver, a devoted wife, and a caring mom with an ever-ready smile. She
was a mother we all desire for and a mother-in-law to die for. They were
so respectful of her children and their wishes that they never once
interfered, criticized, or disapproved of their lives.
He prayed and asked
God
for His blessing before asking her parents for her hand. They gave them
their blessings. They got married with them present. They were in love
as two love birds in a tree. They moved and lived happily in their new
house in Florida, a paradise where he always wanted to live his life. He
bought her a house on the most sought-after beaches in one of the most
beautiful places on the earth. He always believed and repeatedly told
everyone that if
God
needed home on the earth, it would be where
He
had made it possible for them to live. It was a piece of heaven on
earth. The house was exactly what they had wished for and the location
they desired for as there were no others like it no matter wherever they
had looked, and they had looked long and hard. Another
God’s
blessing in disguise. It was to become an exceedingly prospers home
where friends and family came and stayed, and where they were well cared
for. Every special holiday, Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter, and alike
were celebrated, and dinners were prepared and shared. No one ever left
without accompanied food. They were generous to the neighbors, friends,
and strangers alike. They were loved by their friends and neighbors and
even strangers who, at times, came by the house.
She was the talk of the town. His father and mother spoke so highly of
their bride there and back in their ancient land that everyone knew of
her and her beauty and her kindness before they knew her name. It was
the
God
arranged holy matrimony of heavenly stature. He thanked
God
everyday for such wife and the life
He
had bestowed upon him.
They lived and grew together in the same house for nearly thirty years,
never sleeping apart or going places without each other. They were known
to their friend as one and were never too far apart from one another. If
you saw one, you were bound to see the other within a short distance of
each other. They loved and trusted one another. They never fought, or a
foul word was ever exchanged between them. It was one sweet name after
another. He was beside himself for
God’s
blessing of such a wife and such a life and Thanked
God
for it every day.
Their union was so strong that there was never a hint of dissatisfaction
or dislikes for one and the other. Their marriage was so assured as the
sun in the sky.
He was so thankful for his good fortune and accredited it all to
God
and His love for him. He didn’t know why he was so watched over by
God
except that he believed that it was his job to be righteous and care for
God’s
children and never to judge them instead to help them and to shun evil
at all costs.
But only
God
knew what
He
had in mind for him and at His chosen time and His chosen place to
bestow upon him the honor to be. It was to be 2000 years later, He spoke
again to help save his strayed children yet again.
